Additional Credits to : Monty the cat for annoying me, WorldCraft for the great product, But mostly Ariel for his endless play testing and incredibly useful critique, Oh, and Ariel again for the Mission text... Notlob's Quake Page: www.steve-gc.dircon.co.uk/ and follow your nose! ================================================================ * Play Information * Single Player : Yes Cooperative : No Deathmatch : sgcq2dm1 is a specific Deathmatch included in zip. Difficulty Settings : Yes New Sounds : No New Graphics : No New Music : No Demos Replaced : None * Construction * Base : New levels from scratch Editor(s) used : WorldCraft 1.6 Known Bugs : If you use the Rogue PAK file when playing you may get an anomoly with the blackhole not appearing. With Xatrix, it's ok, but it won't appear with the Rogue pak added. God knows why! ***There's a chance the 3rd map may crash if: 1) you use cheats (especially GIVE ALL). 2) you take a *long* time to complete it. Because I'm close to the model limit (1029) and I've got 2 spawners that create soldiers so the longer you go before turning them off, the more models it generates and the nearer the limit it gets and it will in the end generate an overflow error. Sorry, but if I reduce the model count any more I reduce the level's look/feel. Build Time : Since Operation Scorched Earth Part II... 8 months. Compile machine : Dual PII450 w/ 512MB RAM Compile time : 6hrs for sgc11-1, the others about 2hrs. * Other Info * This set of levels is meant to continue on from Operation Scorched Earth Parts I & II, my other Quake2 Map Units. In fact if you download OSE Parts I & II (SGC9 & SGC10) from my website, it should follow through from sgc9-1 to sgc11-4. So if you've not played any of the Operation Scorched Earth series you've got 9 consecutive maps to enjoy! Note, because of the use of the '-' sign in the bsp files, the maps will not run from a shortcut icon, they must be kicked off from the console. I am hoping to continue this series using Half Life where you're back on earth in London, England. I strongly recommend you play SGC9 & SGC10 first and read the missions in them before playing these levels. While they'll be fun on their own I think they'll be better if you've played Operation Scorched Earth, Parts I & II. SGC11-1 has some very large architectural areas where r_speeds are approaching 2000. This means it is all but unplayable in software mode and I recommend you use a decently fast 3D card to play SGC11-1 in particular. SGC11-4 is the ending map. It doesn't go anywhere, just finishes off the series with a bit of information, just read the on-screen messages. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Only Way Out Is Through As I regained consciousness all I could think of was that even my worst hangovers NEVER felt this bad! Man!, did my head hurt. Emergency take offs are hard enough on a body when you are strapped in, unfortunately I did not have that luxury. The last thing I remembered before everything went black was climbing up the access ladder and closing the hatch just as the invasion ship rocketed skyward. Well, I guess I'll just have to add headaches to the list of things I don't have time for. I have to think... I've read all the debriefs about the various Strogg ships, but... Now, what do I remember about this class of Strogg vessel? Hmmm... She is one really big mother... THAT is for sure! That just means she'll make a bigger noise when I take her out, because she *AIN'T* going anywhere if I can help it! If I remember correctly, the Invasion Class Carrier contains several key areas... I'll have to get to the Flux Engine Room and adjacent Core Generator Room in order to power up the engines. Then I can send this ship straight to hell and I think that nearby star will do quite nicely! Aw, shit that means I'll need to re-route this pile of scrap metal as well. I'll have to make it to the Navigation Console and input the new coordinates. What else?.... Damn this throbbing! Hard to think... Ummm yeah, I'm beginning to remember now... Those reports, they mentioned something called Turignon Tubes - don't they lead to an emergency teleport to the commander's private shuttle? If I can make it there maybe.. just maybe.. I can make it home. So, all I have to do is fire up this baby and set course for the nearest sun, shut down ship security, find the computers which control access to the Turignon shaft, take out what remains of the Strogg Invasion Force and hope I haven't forgotten anything too important. Piece of cake! Crap! Did I mention that my week has REALLY sucked?! Still... Something's nagging at the back of my brain - details I must've skimmed over while reading the debriefs. Wait a minute?! How the hell am I going to get around the ship?!.. Everything is damn DNA encoded!.. SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!... There has got to be miles and miles of ducts all over this ship this size... I better hope so... or this is going to be a pretty quick trip with a VERY unhappy ending.. MINE!... I vaguely recall other parts of the ship being mentioned but they were sketchy at best - not surprising really considering how infrequently a human actually get's off a Strogg vessel alive... Hang on, weren't there rumours of an onboard Black Hole Generator, Missile Launch Systems, and a Prisoner Processing Plant? Trouble is they muddle all the important stuff in with the routine areas like the Cargo Bays, Water Treatment Conduits and Hazardous Material Pools and shit. I wished I had paid more attention during that briefing - none of my worst case scenario simulations ever came up with this one! Well.. that is enough thinking, time to start improvising.. it can't get any worse... can it?... Can It?!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Help can be obtained if necessary by emailing me. * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may NOT use these levels as a base to build additional levels.
