Unzip the three BSP files into the MAPS directory. Load the first level using the 'map' command. E.g., QUAKE2\BASEQ2\MAPS\AVARICE.BSP would be loaded with the command 'MAP AVARICE' from the Quake2 console prompt: Hit the tilde (~) key in Quake2 to enter console mode. Type: MAP AVARICE at the prompt. Hit the tilde (~) key again to exit console mode. Alternatively you can launch the level directly from the DOS prompt with: quake2 +map avarice =========================================================================== * Play Information * Single Player : Yes. You *might* encounter the message "WARNING: MSG OVERFLOW at the finale of the level. No big deal - it just means you were standing in a spot that saw too many explosions for the Quake2 engine to handle. If you run these maps on a server, please let me know, I'll come and play. =========================================================================== Notes: Warning: You're going to need a "muscle" machine to play this unit. A PII 266 or higher is recommended - there's are large rooms in each level that will really slow things down on a lesser machine. I appologize for this, but to do anything less would compromise the quality of the level. This level was built primarily for single player. Fortunately, those single player levels translate pretty well for deathmatch. You'll find all three levels optimized for deathmatch play. All weapons are included in the single player game. The BFG is only included in AVARICE3 for deathmatch. However, it's hidden in a secret area, so you'll have to find it to use it. =========================================================================== * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may NOT use this level as a base to build additional levels.
