The Strogg have finally achieved success in their quest to acquire LETHOS technology. However, Stroggos' early advancements will ultimately be their downfall. As you already know, the Terran Superfortress Celestion was completely obliterated last month en route to a peace-keeping mission in the Gellan Sector. Initial reports claimed that the giant battleship collided with an uncharted "comet". However, the comet story was fabricated by the Ministry of Arms because the truth was far too horrible and embarrassing: The mighty Celestion was taken down by a single indestructable Strogg fighter. The Strogg are using rillion_6 radiation extracted from molten lava, combined with unstable kryptonic particle beams to create an indestructable shield on a heavily modified fighter frame. There is only one of these ships, at least that we know of. That is what we have been told by our inside operative, Sgt. Michael Cemenski. Two weeks ago Sgt. Cemenski was beamed down to a location inside the complex on Stroggos which houses the special recharging hangar needed for LETHOS regeneration. Over the course of four days he secretly gathered information about the LETHOS project by tapping into the Strogg local grid. Apparently the project is the mastermind of a Strogg comander known only as "The Guardian". This single Strogg retains all knowledge of this project on a single uranium data disc. We gave an order to Sgt. Cemenski to terminate The Guardian immediately. In response, Cemenski rattled off a bunch of incoherent babbling, like "make it stop" and "kill me now". We naturally suspect the worse. You may be surprised to learn that our scientists already have a thorough understanding of LETHOS technology. Unfortunately it is far too dangerous for use...and always will be. The danger lies in the recharging proccess. In order to be recharged, the shield must be exposed to highly unstable kryptonic particle beams. The beams cause atomic brekdown of the base filler material, usually a ceramic. When the decay reaches a transmit frequency of 15-44 hz, a massive chain reaction is possible. In one experiment, a rogue moon twice the size of Stroggos was blasted into six pieces by a simulated malfunction. That is why, Sgt. , your orders are to destroy the ship, the Guardian and the data CD and leave nothing for anyone else to discover. You are also ordered to kill the stark raving mad Sgt. Cemensky on site, if he is still alive. Trust me, you would be doing him a favor by putting a bullet in his brain. You will be beamed to a location near the recharging hangar. From there you must blast your way through the complex, searching for this "Guardian" and stop at nothing to eliminate him. After the Guardian is disabled, use the data CD to access the charging console and enter the codes to disable the fighter's shields. You will then need to destroy the ship manually before the kryptonic chain reaction can occur. Good luck and Godspeed, Sgt. . The security of our planetary alliance depends on you. Brig.
